Elizabeth notes: This painting began as a sketch study. It’s somewhat strange, I really like it in its current form! The looser alla prima brushstrokes and color choices are fresh, and painting over them would eliminate the work of its life. The orange is echoed by the goat’s eye socket, creating a somewhat circular composition.
